George has a guardian. Is he the chosen one? Bringing back the chicken egg boys, brilliant! The supernatural is taking center stage. Looking forward to the next chapter, J. Keep 'em coming.

You are like a tour guide. I knew that the Mayan civilization survived because of pools of fresh water from collapsed caves but didn't know what they were called. It's interesting that on an island those pools exist. I like how your story incorporates an entirely different world view with characters driven by those beliefs. I read the novel "Aztec" a few years back. It created the same kind of disequalibrium but in a much darker way. Your story is very entertaining and unpredictable.

As I understand it, the entire Yucitan peninsula is a giant limestone “shelf.” I believe it’s sedimentary—coral, shells, etc that have air pockets between. Cenotes are just sinkholes where the stone has eroded. There are cenotes on the island of Cozumel.

Glad you’re enjoying the story. More (unpredictability) to come!
